Carl G. Zoecklein, graduated from Seton Hall Law School in 1989, passed the New Jersey Bar in 1990 and became a licensed Attorney in the State of New Jersey.  He has maintained his own law office as a solo practitioner since that time, having had offices at 688 Broad Street, Clifton, NJ; 642 Broad Street, Clifton, NJ; and 737 Broad Street, Clifton, NJ where his current practice has been located since 2002.  He primarily focused upon Real Estate Closings- residential and commercial- to include purchases, sale and refinances.  Today his practice has evolved to include DWI/DUI, Criminal, Municipal Court, Expungements, Divorce, Loan Modifications, Landlord Tenant, Civil Law, as well as the Real Estate Closings. He is a member of the New Jersey State Bar Association.

Carl G. Zoecklein, was continuously employed by the City of Clifton, New Jersey, as a Police Officer, from June 2, 1975 to April 30, 2002, in various assignments and ranks.  While so employed, he attended many specialized law enforcement training courses which focused upon the enforcement of Narcotics Laws as well as other areas of investigation.  In addition to classroom type education, he also received "hands on" type job experience and training while so employed by the City of Clifton while working with other police agencies to include:  The New Jersey State Police Narcotic Units; The New Jersey Attorney Generals Office; The Passaic County Prosecutors Office Narcotic Task Force; The Bergen County Narcotic Task Force; The Essex County Prosecutor's Office Organized Crime Unit, The Bergen County Prosecutor's Office Organized Crime Unit, The Passaic County Prosecutors' Office Organized Crime unit, The Federal Drug Enforcement Agency (D.E.A.); as well as local area narcotic units, to include primarily the Cities of Garfield, Paterson and Passaic.

Assignments within the Clifton Police Department have included the following:

  • June, 1975 through March, 1978- assigned to the uniformed patrol division.
  • March, 1978 through July 2, 1981- assigned as a Detective to the Juvenile and Drug Abuse Unit Office.
  • July 2, 1981 through July 16, 1983- assigned as a Sergeant in the Directed Patrol/Street Crimes Unit, responsible for all Narcotic Investigations within the City of Clifton, New Jersey.
  • July 17,1983 through June 19, 1988- assigned as a Sergeant and then as a Lieutenant in the Field Operations Bureau.
  • June 20, 1988 to Retirement- assigned as a Lieutenant in the Tactical-Narcotics Unit, responsible for all Narcotic, Gambling, Forfeiture and Vice Investigations within the City of Clifton, New Jersey, in a supervisory capacity.  Additional duties also included, Commander of the Tactical Response Team (SWAT unit), and Internal Affairs Officer responsible directly to the Chief of Police.

Formal Education consists of the following:

1971- Hawthorne High School- graduated.
1973- A.A.S. Degree- Paul Smiths College in Forestry.
1975- B.S. Degree- Trenton State College, in Criminal Justice, with minors in Psychology and Sociology.
1980- M.A. Degree- John Jay College, in Criminal Justice.
1989- J.D. Degree- Seton Hall Law School.

In his capacity as a Clifton Police Officer, throughout his career, he was the recipient of One Life Saving Medal, Three Honorable Service Medals, One Investigators’ Citation, Eleven Excellent Police Duty Certificates as well as various letters of commendation from the Clifton City Council and Passaic County Prosecutors’ Office.
